1) Tobacco Intervention Initiative (TII)

The Tobacco Intervention Initiative (TII) is a professionally-led "call to action" programme to eradicate tobacco addiction while striving for a 'tobacco free India' and thus improving the oral health of Indians by the year 2020.

2) Oral Cancer Foundation

The OCF aims to establish a broad alliance of key influencers and policy makers from research, education, clinical practice, public health, government and industry, partnering in a common goal to effect fundamental change in health systems and individual behaviour to achieve the 2020 goal of optimal oral health for all.

3) National Oral Cancer Registry

The National Oral Cancer Registry programme is a mechanism to collect and classify information on all oral cancer cases as well as precancerous lesions and conditions in order to produce statistics on the occurrence of cancer and to provide a framework for assessing and controlling the impact of oral cancer on the community. The population based cancer registries collect and process data relating to a defined geographical area while the hospital based cancer registries relate to data available within a specific hospital.

4) Child Dental Centre

CDCs are dental clinic certified as Child Dental Centres under the aegis of Child Dental Foundation (CDF) which conduct oral health screening a must for Healthy Teeth for a Lifetime.

5) Emergency Dental Centre

IDA's initiative --- Emergency Dental Centre (EDC) are a network of clinics to handle dental emergencies. These are "ordinary" dental clinics complete with their own staff that have joined the EDC 24x7 family to extend their care beyond the regular business day hours.

6) Healing Smile Foundation

Healing Smiles Foundation (HSF) is an initiative of the Indian Dental Association (IDA) to help children and adults with cleft lip, cleft palate, and craniofacial anomalies. The foundation is dedicated to optimizing the quality of life for individuals affected by facial birth defects; because these conditions affect a child's appearance and ability to hear, speak, eat, breathe. Based on the last study by World Health Organisation (WHO), the number of infants born every year with cleft lip + cleft palate is 28,600, which means 78 affected infants are born every day, or 3 infants with clefts born every hour.
